Pool & Wellness Spaces

Private retreats for health, relaxation and restoration

Design Philosophy

Designing for Wellbeing

A private pool or wellness space is among the most technically demanding rooms in any residential property — and among the most rewarding when designed with the same care as the rest of the home. Too often, pool rooms feel like commercial leisure facilities transplanted into a domestic setting. Our work ensures they feel like an integral part of the house.

The design challenge is managing the technical requirements — humidity control, acoustic management, chemical-resistant materials, specialist lighting — while creating an atmosphere of calm and retreat. We work with specialist pool engineers and M&E consultants from the earliest design stages, ensuring that the technical infrastructure is resolved before the aesthetic layer begins.

Material selection is critical. Porcelain, natural stone, teak, and specialist renders that withstand constant moisture exposure form the palette. Lighting is designed to work both above and below the waterline, creating atmosphere that shifts from bright morning swim to evening relaxation at the touch of a control.

Beyond the pool itself, we design complementary wellness spaces: saunas, steam rooms, cold plunge pools, treatment rooms, and changing areas that together create a private health facility rivalling any boutique spa.

Design Elements

Pool Room Atmosphere

We design pool enclosures that feel residential rather than institutional — through material warmth, considered proportions, integrated planting, and lighting that creates genuine atmosphere rather than flat illumination.

Humidity & Climate Control

Specialist dehumidification and ventilation systems are designed into the space from day one, protecting the building fabric while maintaining comfortable conditions for swimmers and guests.

Sauna & Steam Integration

Custom-built saunas, steam rooms, and cold plunge pools are designed as part of a coherent wellness journey — with materials, lighting, and spatial flow connecting each element.

Changing & Relaxation Areas

Adjacent spaces for changing, showering, and post-swim relaxation are designed with the same material quality and attention as the pool room itself — not treated as afterthoughts.
